This handsome little baby is our son Dennis. I'm not sure how old he is in this picture, but I count it a huge blessing to be in possession of it. Though he has been home just under a week, it feels so natural with him here that it seems so much longer. I can't believe how easy he is..... just fill up his belly and he's good to go. No really, it is much more than that, but I must say that he really is a good baby.
We were shown this picture at our SDA appointment. Yes, we had an easy appointment because we went there knowing who we wanted to adopt, but it caught me off guard to be presented with this picture of our little guy. A tear rolled down my cheek when I saw the photo, and I knew that I had to have it. They would only do so if we returned with a newer picture of him after the adoption...... you better believe that was a high priority for John before he left the country.
Anyway, I wanted to share this precious photo of our son with all of you because I thought you might enjoy it if even just a fraction of what I did.

Love,

PS I had to use your picture of attachment in the newest RLC blog post. . and point people to your awesome blog!! Love you and that sweet boy!
Oh Christine!!!! He is so precious! I know you wish you could have picked him up and squeezed him.
Those of us who have adopted preschool children and older know how precious that baby picture is to you. What an awesome gift to have. We have tried to obtain baby pics without luck. It has become less of an obsession for me as I truly have been able to enjoy the here and now of Nicholas but the curiosity remains! :) I love the bonding pic also. Nick still loves to be in the rocker cuddling with mom or dad and he rarely sits still otherwise! ha!
What a treasure to some day have this picture for him. He will feel more comfortable knowing mommy has a picture of him when he was
little. Enjoy that boy.

How awesome that they gave you this!
What a sweet picture!
I know exactly how you feel about getting one of him so young. We were able to get Leeza's SDA picture, but she was nearly 3 in that, so it still isn't a baby picture. I hope to do a birth family search at some point and see if we can't get some from earlier in her life.
How precious! You are so blessed to have a baby picture of Dennis!! I don't have one of Caleb and I sure wish I did.:(
Thanks for sharing! Amy
OH WHAT A SWEET PICTURE OF YOUR BEAUTIFUL BABY!!!!ENJOY HIM . WHAT A BLESSING. JODY
you are so blessed to have this picture of little Dennis... i know many adopted children have NOTHING from prior to adoption and this is something that not only you but also Dennis will certainly cherish as he grows older. and i am SO thankful that you were able to adopt him when you did - if he has any memory of before coming to your family, surely he won't remember not having a family, not being loved or touched or attended to all the time. even the best of orphanages & caretakers simply don't have the time or resources to do for these children what a family can, so i don't mean this as anything against those who took care of your son until you got him home, but for Dennis he will probably have just memories of you & your family. what a blessing that you were able to bring him home at such a young age. Dennis certainly is blessed!
one other thought... when i first heard you were adopting Dennis, i was wondering if bringing him home to such a large family would be BAD for him. not in the sense of being loved or cared for AT ALL, so please don't misunderstand, just that it's VERY overwhelming when these little guys adjust to new surroundings and even just two parents, let alone a whole house full of brothers & sisters...
...but THEN i realized that if anything, it probably is helping him, because he has ALWAYS been around other children. i think it probably comforts him, even though it may have been overwhelming at first, because he always has someone to play with and it's not just him & two adults. Dennis is SO BLESSED to be part of your family & i know you are SO BLESSED to be his family!
still praying for all of you...
He's beautiful and blessed!
He's always been beautiful!
Aw, love the hair! He`s so cute and it`s amazing to see how much he`s grown.
Ah, thanks for sharing his picture. So cute!! That must be a real treasure to have a baby picture of him for his scrapbook. It has been such a blessing to watch Dennis' whole adoption process. Thank you so much for sharing him with us!
What a precious photo to have in your hands! I can only wish and pray that we are given any old/previous/infant photos of our son when we go to bring him home....even just one....I would love it! How neat that you were given Dennis' baby picture. He is just beautiful!
God has surely blessed you with such a beautiful little boy!
I wish they would ahve given me Kara's, I can still see it in my minds eye, and Amanda's? Well, I do not know if they even had any, but I have all of them I found on photolistings of her over the years....
You are blessed to have this.
First of all, I just want to say that you are very brave to be posting a picture of yourself in the tub! I'm glad you did, though. What mother hasn't cherished moments with her little baby in a warm bath?! My colicky second baby loved to settle in the tub with me and I loved it too!
Secondly, how amazing is that for you to have a baby picture of your little guy?! I am so glad for you! We were able to get a ton of pictures of our older two boys but the youngest we have is about two or three years and we have none of Vitali. I know what a treasure that picture is.
Congratulations on your newest addition. I just was spending a few moments catching up on your blog. I haven't had much time lately to sit and read so I was a few weeks behind.
