*NEWS FLASH* Dennis is in Daddy's arms!

John called me this morning (our time) to tell me he was in a car heading to the Donetsk airport to catch a plane back to Kyiv....... and Dennis was sitting in his lap.

Praise God!

Dennis has his passport, the orphanage has a picture book of our visits with Dennis last trip, and John donated the bag of coats that our friend Kristen gave. Sadly, that was pretty much all that was done because of the mad dash to get out of there and make their flight. Amy, my husband printed out your email for our translator to give to Antoli....... she will email him in Russian about your update. :)

I am just so excited that Dennis is now with his Daddy! As I was talking to John, I heard Dennis squealing with delight------- not car sickness like I thought. :)

Thank you for all of your prayers.

There are tears in my eyes as I read your blog. What an awesome man that he was the one going back to bring him home. We all know that mother's are the ones we think should be the caregiver, but don't dad's do such a great job at it. Praise God. He is so amazing. Can't wait until he is home with you.

Christine....you are amazing!! You could write a book :-) Music to my heart that little Dennis is with his Daddy!! AWESOME!! If you would like to email me privately...I may have some info regarding cleft palate...I'm sure you have researched all this yourself..but just thought I would offer (dswendt@charter.net) Our little boy, now 4 yrs old, was born with a cleft lip/palate. He had his surgeries and is doing wonderfully..he's almost done with speech therapy. I'm also a nurse and have experience in caring for little ones with cleft palate. Don't feel you need to contact me...I was just thinking that maybe after Dennis is home..and you have a question here or there, feel free to ask away. I also have a name of a surgeon who does amazing work (he's in Cleveland, Ohio) He's world renowned..he is a cranial-facial surgeon. But, again, it sounds like you found an amazing doctor close by..which is awesome :-) Is Dennis wearing size 12-18 month clothes? Your weather is probably totally different than where we are...but I would be more than happy to send some very nice clothing(things my son only wore a couple times and are now packed away) to sweet little Dennis. Just an offer..don't feel you need to say yes, I don't know how much "baby" clothing you may already have :-)

What to make for dinner? I thought - well, I'll try that "Navy Macaroni" and I found a recipe on-line!

“Navy”macaroni (‘Macaroni “po-flotsky”’)

Ingredients: macaroni (any kind, preferably small), 1 can of ONISS pâté, onions, spices, oil.

Process of cooking: Cut onions, fry them in oil for 10 min., add pâté and stir the mixture. Put macaroni into boiling water, add salt, pepper and bay leaf. When macaroni are ready pour out water and wash them thoroughly. Now, the SECRET: fry washed macaroni in much quantity of oil and add pâté with onions afterwards. Have a nice meal!
