Homestudy draft looks good!

We got the rough draft of our home study last night and after a couple of minor changes, I am excited to say that I think it is done! Our agency looked it over too, and was able to suggest some changes to the part of the home study that discussed us adopting from a disruption to make it more understandable when translated into Russian.

I did mail off for immigration, but after reading on Frua, I am a bit concerned. I mailed off one personal check for the immigration fee and fingerprints instead of two separate money orders like suggested by some of the families on Frua.

Oh well, I can't change things now....I can just pray that the officer accepts what I have mailed.

Christine, how exciting that another hurdle is finished! I don't think that there is a requirement for two checks. I just did my I-600a for Russia and read the directions that come with the form on-line and there is nothing that says you need to have two checks. I know that I got my fingerprint appointment based on one check.

Congratulations on finishing your homestudy.

Don't worry about the USCIS check. We also sent in a single personal check without any problems.

Congratulations on getting that homsestudy done! That is one big hurdle!

(Oh, and we only wrote one check to Homeland Security earlier this year and it was fine).

Another milestone passed. Can you feel it getting closer?

Have you done your physicals yet? If not, email me and I will send you the forms we used which are not the forms on the consulate site. I can explain more in an email.

Great job! Doesn't it feel good to pass these major milestones?

Can't wait to follow your journey as you move toward your trip to Ukraine.
Thanks for stopping by our blog. We know we'll really appreciate the input from others when we travel.

Sounds like things are moving along. We sent one check for everything also and did just fine.

I'm so glad to hear that the home study is done - it's one of the biggies in the process...

I wouldn't worry about 2 checks - I sent one, and it worked for us.
