Through the Grapevine

I've heard it through the grapevine that a rough draft of our home study has been written. I hope to see it later this week.

Also, does anyone know if there is a time counter that counts up instead of down? I would like to see how many days from when we started this process until we bring our son home. I wonder if it will be shorter or longer than a 9 month pregnancy. Our last three adoptions took 8 months, 10 months, and 5 1/2 months.

Oh, and a big thank you to all of you who left comments on John's post. :)

You are very lucky it will go so fast. The process from Azer will take at least a year (if we are lucky) After Guatemala I was a bit spoiled having brought homw our daughter *exactly* a year to the date we started.
Does waiting build character?

I found it amazing that each of our adoptions took 9 months! With the exception of Ilya's which took 8. He is a "preemie" I guess!

That's such a good news about a home study! Hopefully your process will be very fast!

Are you going independently or through the agency?

we have a counter from Pyzam which counts up in days, hours, minutes and seconds. It's at the bottom of our blog. I just checked it...Wow! it seems like a long time when you look at it in days! :)

Wow- I can't believe how amazing fast your adoptions were. Mine took 22 months (China) and is much longer now. Sounds like you are making great progress on your paperchase :)

Thanks everyone for all of the great suggestions.

I'm still waiting to actually read the homestudy but it is only Wednesday so I am hopeful it will come any hour. :)

I wish I could make sense of why adoptions from some countries are taking so darn long.

Sig is waiting 1year+ for Azerbaijain.

Courtney is waiting a long time in Haiti.

And China is waiting up to three years. A friend who is adopting thinks it may have something to do with the Olympics.

Still, these children's lives are just ticking right on by. They are missing out on so much.

God bless them all!
